On the left, an area beyond the rewilding site, where reeds and brush have overtaken the lake's shore, suffocating other plants, and making it inaccessible to most birds and animals. On the right, the lake's shore, grazed by the horses and oxen, is open and more ecologically diverse. A large number of plant species thrive there, various birds nest there, wading species can reach the shore and the area is an accessible water source for a number of animals.
